Fuchsia campos-portoi

This is like a dwarf, bushier form of the more typical hardy Fuchsia magelanica, and the hummers here seem to like the flowers just as well, maybe even better. It’s in the rockery now, though its been in a pot for several years and seemed to do just fine that way too.

Either way, the nice near little foliage and small but perfectly fuchsia like flowers are charming. I haven’t seen berries on mine yet, but we will see if they form this summer. I’m hoping these will stay compact and relatively dwarf. One is in front of the birdbath and if it gets too big will have to be moved. The other simply will look better if it stays under about three feet.
